To compare, the company reported Q3 vehicle production of 469,796 vehicles, up 9.1% YoY and 14.4% QoQ. Quarterly shipments increased YoY for the first time in 3 quarters. Flagship Model 3 and Model Y deliveries totaled 339,975 vehicles, up 5.0% YoY. The 'other' category, which includes Model S, Model X, Tesla Semi and Cybertruck, totaled 22,915 vehicles, up 43.4% YoY. Tesla also reported energy storage capacity of 6.9 GWh in Q3, compared to 9.4 GWh in Q2.
Tesla stock remains highly volatile for a bluechip company, with deliveries data often a major catalyst of such periods of its price turbulence. For instance, TSLA shares rose 10% on the day of July’s report. Shares of the legendary EV-maker are down about 0.5% YTD, far underperforming the S&P 500’s 35% uprise.
